Netanyahu se setkává s „skvělým přítelem“ argentinským prezidentem Mileim.

Argentinian President Javier Milei had a significant meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem on Wednesday. The encounter was marked by expressions of gratitude and mutual admiration.

According to Netanyahu’s office, the Israeli Prime Minister thanked President Milei for his recent decision to designate Hamas as a terrorist organization. Additionally, Netanyahu expressed his appreciation for Milei’s unwavering support of Israel’s right to self-defense. He referred to Milei as a „great friend of the Jewish state“ and commended his intention to relocate the Argentinian embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

The relocation of embassies to Jerusalem has sparked controversy, as it is widely believed in the international community that the status of the city should be determined through future peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians. Israel claims Jerusalem as its capital in its entirety, while the Palestinians aspire to establish East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state.

During his first bilateral trip abroad, President Milei also met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog on Tuesday. The Argentinian head of state took the opportunity to visit the Western Wall and the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial in Jerusalem, symbolizing his respect and appreciation for the Jewish culture and history.

Milei’s visit further solidifies his reputation as a loyal ally of Israel, as he consistently demonstrates a deep interest in the Jewish faith. The meeting with Netanyahu highlights the strong bond between Argentina and Israel, with both leaders emphasizing their shared values and objectives.
