Sponsorship can be done in several ways:
regular financial support, with a logo of the organisation/company in the magazine advertising sponsorship, with paid-for advertising in one or more issues services offered as a gift, using a Darovaci smlouva for tax purposes, ie. printing
From the magazine perspective the first option is best, as we need a safe financial base in order to start publishing. For those who support on a regular basis, there would be a certain amount of advertising for special events that would be published at no cost.
Advertising costs are based on raising enough money to pay for staff and printing; semtam is a registered non-profit organisation. All money that is in surplus will go into developing the product further.

Supporting culture
Aims
Semtam is a place for the South Bohemian region to find music, fashion and cultural news. We publish features that analyse and describe the important subjects in the region. We inform, comment, critique, analyse and provoke. Semtam aims to be the leading regional culture magazine in South Bohemia within 2 years. By focussing locally and regionally rather than nationally, we target the people who work and live here, with content and advertising that means something to the reader, increasing the value for both. In the long term, we aim to not only publish the best lifestyle and culture magazine in the region, we also aim to be a supporter of local culture and similar activities. Including development and training of young people.
Current situation
In February 2011, a group of people involved in cultural life in Ceske Budejovice saw the need and potential for a cultural magazine, similar to semtam. After a meeting arranged by Kulturni Most, held at the university, a clear idea could be seen: a printed forum with cultural information would be able to bridge the gap between students living outside the centre, and the cultural institutions who require their participation.
Sponsor benefits
The direct financial benefits in terms of increased sales/visits is virtually impossible to measure. However, the impact of sponsoring the only real cultural publication in the region is there: increased awareness among tourists, students and residents, and the value of being of the few sponsors to be with the magazine from the start. We are planning promotional materials for all sponsors, focussing on the point of being a “sponsor of local arts and culture”. With our contacts in radio we are planning a series of adverts which will increase awareness of the publication, and also of our sponsors.
A short history
Semtam started as an idea in November 2008 and published the first issue in February 2009. The magazine survived on commercial advertising alone, and made a loss by the time the last issue was published in May 2010. The magazine was produced solely on voluntary basis and died for the same reasons. Without financial backing further than the next issue, people needed to prioritise paid work and semtam stopped functioning.
